Plain old Barracudas?

Hello Cuda-Challenger gang,

I'm new here, so if I lose my way, please bear with me.  Anyway, I was hoping to get your thoughts on the 70-74 Barracuda...just Barracuda (base and Gran Coupe), NOT 'Cuda.  As a lifelong MOPAR guy (currently drive a 300M and LOVING it) from a MOPAR family (dad drives a Concorde, and brother owns a MOPAR service/repair shop), I've always had a preference for the "plain Jane" version of the Barracuda (like the kind Mike Brady drove).  The problem is, it's been nearly impossible to find any information about them, let alone any for sale (not that I could afford one, but I digress).  My guess is that most were stripped for parts or turned into 'Cuda clones.  My questions are: 1. What have been your experiences in researching and finding Barracudas (read: do you think there are any left), and 2. Have you seen a price range for such examples?

i love my barracuda. all the trim on the cuda just doesn't do it for me. although i would love some gilled fenders for my 71 but thats all the trim i want.

Yes you can still find them.  Mine is an example of that, it is all numbers matching and has all it Barracuda parts.  But for me, I like most of the Cuda trim so mine will get updated to the Cuda trim package.  But it will be nothing to change it back if the future owner wants.

Keep looking, you will find one.

I know where a 72 - 74 Barracuda is that needs total restoration, but the guy is wanting at least $5,000 for it. I don't even think it has the engine / tranny in it. He's pretty proud of the rust he has.

You can tell by the first 2 letters of the vin #-BH for Barracuda,BS for `cuda.There are still  projects out there or just buy a clone and convert it back.

I love that car. I sold one just like it to a guy in Maryland several years ago and have regretted it ever since.

My car is a 318 BH car  318 4spd.   I bought a rust free body out of Ca. for 12k that came with 3 engines and 4 4spds and a bunch of other extra parts.   I still need to put the 318 back in its place soon. I used an adapter ring on the trans to put a big block under the hood was all, and added a dana, but I have all the original stuff to put it back as is.  The Bh cars are out there, you just have to keep your eyes and ears open. The best deals are usually not on ebay, craigslist or other sources like that. There are still many people out there that don't even own a computer.  Also a BP is a premium car with a lot more options so saying a BH in comparison to a BP in your post isn't right to me.

So he is finally selling that Barracuda? What does he want for it? Oh and I am the opposite, while I love all things Barracuda, I definitely like the black tailpanel over the painted one and definitely like the 'CUDA emblem on the car as opposed to Barracuda.
