The site seems slow loading ?
« on: February 13, 2010 - 05:52:47 PM »
Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, just saying?
I takes longer than usual to get onto the site and go to different pages? I can go to other sites no problem, so I don't think it's my computer? I see about 110 people on right now if that tells you anything?
Not complaining Ross just letting you know? :dunno:
Thanks for all you do! :2thumbs:

I can't say that I've noticed any slowdowns on the site myself. It seems to be loading fine for me -- haven't had any problems.

I'm with Brad. The homepage comes up OK, but any other navigation is slow. I hope it's not the uploader filling up again!  :roflsmiley:

Slow for me also.  Not all pages, just some.

Yep, some load slow, some fast. Probably from the huge traffic that our beautiful cars and wonderful manners are attracting.   :swaying:

Considering that the slow-loading pages are only occurring once in a while for most everyone, I have a thought as to what the problem might be.

I've noticed that quite a few members lately have extremely large avatar images. Pages with comments from members who have these large avatar images will take much longer to load than others. That would explain why some pages load quickly while others don't. You may be able to determine if this is in fact the problem you are experiencing if you notice some member's avatar images loading on the side bar at a very large size and then snapping to the standard small size once they are fully loaded.

I'm not sure if this is truly the issue, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

I have the sig pics turned off, & the site is slow for me too, so I do not think it is related.

One thing you can do is delete your cookies & tempory internet files, it should help some.

Mine's fine until I scroll to the bottom of the page.  For some reason, the banner (especially the Ford one) really slows me down.

The site is often slow for me, and I agree with "the engineers" about the Mustang banner.  I've found that Google Chrome loads pages much faster than Explorer so when pages are running slow, I'll often just quit IE and open Chrome.  If you're not familiar with the Google browser, I recommend trying it. You can download it from the Google homepage by clicking the "more" tab and then the "even more" tab.
