Chryslers marketing and dealing with this car is flat out crap. They bring cars with colors you can't get to car shows. They offer zero incentives. To get the v8 you have to order an R/T which automatically comes with a nearly 10k price add that includes a fancy stereo and leather seats. Even worse if you want a high impact color. They don't offer a manual for the v6 which is vastly underpowered compared to the mustang and camaro v6's anyways. The cool rallye package for the SE's is ridiculously priced which puts it into R/T range so what's the point? Add to that they offer the slick retro magnum 500 style wheels...only on the rallye package though. The dealers seem almost completely ignorant on their own product and forget about price negotiating. I hear all about how they're selling, but I have seen the same 7 or 8 sitting at the lot down the street here for over 2 months now...so I call BS on that.
Over and over I have heard from a lot of guys that they would gladly buy one if it was a cool color with a manual v6...me included...my superbee is a fine testosterone boost for me! Both of the other manufacturers offer a ton of additional options including financing, lower grade interiors, and manual v6's and they obviously are selling well.
SO....What is the deal here? Do they really want to sell these cars or Not? I just don't understand how limiting production, limiting options, and maintaining high prices can help a freshly bankrupted auto company.
They are a cool car and I would love to have one, but the impression I am getting is that they aren't interested unless I can pay $36k and that is just too much for me. I know I am not alone on this...
