Cowl vent grill
« on: February 14, 2010 - 06:11:31 AM »
Is that the proper terminology for the plastic grills that go on top of the cowl?  Mine are missing and I cannot find a source!  Anyone know where to get them for a '70 Challenger?

There are snap on types and screw on types.  Not certain, but I beleive the 1970 used a screw on type.

That would make sense, because mine are snap in (73 Challenger).  I wonder if the 72-74 could be modified, although at that price I'd be afraid to touch them.

Wow that price seems crazy.   :22yikes:

Yes, the '70 style screws on. I do seem them on E-Bay once in a while.

70 is unique & the later ones do not fit but possibly could be modified , I have a spare 71 up style left one , you would have to cut off all the snap in tabs & drill holes in it to work though

Real good deal.  Some repair and paint will make those look like new.

Got 'em in and after some de lousing they actually look pretty good.  There are 1 or 3 fins that are cracked, but that will be no big deal to fix with some CA glue, or if anyone has a better idea I am all ears.

One more question, anyone know the specs of the screws used?  I'd like to get them locally and get the right ones.

Thanks again!
