maybe a pitman arm??

hey on my car 72 chally .. when i get up to like 50+  it starting shaking real bad..... underneath my car on the passenger side the apparatus that holds all the steering components together( pitman arm?) is kind of wobbly i casn take my hand and wobble it back and forth but it was new when i put it on and only have like 75 miles on car? how much play is that thing supposed to have? could I have put the wrong one on ? how do i tell if it is the correct one or not?

If you can move the idler arm(attached to k frame) up and down you may have not put in the large washers that go on top and under the arms bushing in some replacement parts. They need to be in on some supplied parts. If the arm can move up and down the tow-in go's away.
If it is the pittman arm (attached to steering box), the looseness will be in the joint attached to the drag link.

can someone post a pic of the idler arm with the washers? i fooled with it last night it is def the idler arm.  when i grab it you can move it 3/8-1/2  inch up and down.... the washers yer refering to .....are they a special type or can i jus shim it up using washers that fit???

I installed mine just last week, and although the instructions told me to put the washer in, there`s no way it would fit in the K-member. It was supposed to sit on top of the bushing. same diameter hole...    don`t have a clue how that would do any good there.  I installed it without the washer, and there`s no play whatsoever.

i read on here some people have had the same problem... are there two diff sizes maybe i have the big one??? who did you go thru to get yers?

Same way on mine... no room for a washer to fit. But shes in nice and tight!

I got mine from mopars by crane, along with my wrong year pitmanarm in the correct year wrap...     mopars by crane went out of business last year
