Snow in South Carolina ?
« on: February 17, 2010 - 12:17:19 PM »
Yes we did get about 5" here in Summerville. First time since 1989. It was my lab's first snow and had no idea what the heck it was.

My mother lives in Myrtle Beach, and they got about 5 inches, also.  Funny thing about 1989.  We lived in Connecticut, but had a condo in Myrtle Beach at the time for vacations.  We went down for Christmas that year, and had 13" on the ground the following day.  We shoveled off a tennis court and played tennis for a week in 60+ degree weather and snow all around us.

I have family in both Charleston and Summerville and both got a good dose of snow. I'm here in Charlotte and we got close to 5 inches. And the weatherman said that it proably would not even hit us!!! Go figure!

That's all right.  Here in Dallas last Wednesday night they forecast 1 to maybe 3 inches in some extreme areas, and Thursday morning we had that by about 4 AM, on the way up to over 12".

I would be happy to see it once every 20 years instead of 9 months / year
