340 Barracuda Question
« on: February 17, 2010 - 05:23:27 PM »
Ruben from the Netherlands (KM/H) has a 1970 340 Barracuda.
- A nice Barracuda at that.

Since it's a Barracuda, would it come with Cuda suspension upgrades, or have the Barracuda suspension? :clueless:

I was just wondering

I know the 340 was an option for the Barracuda.
Don't know if there were other required options when ordering the 340.

I can't find Chryco's link to his reference books.
Thought I had them in My Favorites.

:dunno:...I never looked if there was a difference about the suspension with my car and a 'Cuda..
I'll have to find out..

What I do know is that there is no info in the books about BH23H Barracuda's.
Galen knows about car #3, but never did more research about them.
He thought that #3 was the only survivor, and was surprised when I came with the info about my car ???

A few BH23H 1970 340 Barracudas have popped up in the US & Canada, but I have never found any real data on them either.

For whatever reason, some do exist.  :dunno:

Mr Alaskan TA-
I may misspoke when I said that Chryco has the reference documents.  I recognize your avatar as the one with the link to reference docs.  My appoligies.

Doesnt the 1970/71 customer order list allow to order a 340 in a Barracuda?

And, here again, just curious if there are other required options when ordering the 340.
Kind of like, only different, can't order A/C with a Hemi.

Thanks
Ron

No worries.

Link to the 1970 Barracuda / Cuda engine page. Note the N/A for a 340 in a Barracuda;

Yet, some do exist.  :dunno:

Any idea if the 340 Barracudas were an A66 code?

A66 was Challenger only.

Barry, I know A66 was offically only offered on Challenger, but just wondering if the unoffically built 340 Barracudas might have been coded A66 along with the H engine code.  Has anyone recorded a fender tag from a 340 Barracuda?

A66 specifically mentions Challenger, see this page;

http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/images/dealerships/DealershipDataBook/1970/70_Challenger0024.jpg

Some export cars (the ones that actually were exported) did not get fender tags.

The US  & Canada BH23H0 cars are few & far between, they may just have VIN tags with typos. Like most things, research continues...........
