Great introduction of the European assembled cars, and your Barracuda looks fantastic. Welcome onboard!  I remember the red Barracuda up for sale here and have pics of it from local car meet.  :)

Kind of looks like my garage, except my Barracuda is Pale Green and my 70 Airgrabber Roadrunner is Tor Red.  Agree with the others, white with the red interior is stunning!  Congrats!

When that picture was taken, it was in Seattle area owned by Norwegian guy.
It was then on ebay at "1 of 2", owner was suprized when i told to him at those was made few more.
I'm not suprized if he is member here also

That car was sold from Holland to Norway, where my friend bought it. He's the guy you're talking about. But he is mostly into Vipers. He is also guy that helped me get my Barracuda from Seattle. Don't know what he did with the car, but he put it on ebay once.. don't know if it sold.

Great story. I was not aware that Chrysler did this. Is the door mirror original to the car?

Very cool Barracuda you have. Nice tow rig also. I notice the other Mopars in that shop, is there a large Mopar following in the Netherlands?
THe Mopar following is growing strong, And many cars are being restored :smokin:
Wow, that's a nice looking car. Great color combo. Is it coded for the hockey stick stripes?
Nope... I just love those hockey stick stripes. I also added the black color on the taillight panel. Also the 15" rally's are not original, most of the export E-body's came with hubcaps or 14" mags :eek7:

As far as I know this is the original mirror.
I only saw this on the early E-Barra's like the first Hemi-Cuda (also a white car :naughty:)
Most of the H-coded Barra's has the chrome sport mirror..

Great looking car, inside and out.  Love the white with the black tail & top.  Nice options.  I assume the power windows are original too.

Most of the european E body were optioned with power windows, power steering and disc brakes. In Switzerland they were assembled at Schitznach plant near Zurich, but they were mostly identical to US models, save for speedo and lack of radio. They were imported by AMAG from mid sixties to mid seventies. A body had some differences in interior fittings, many had reclining Recaro seats, while E body were stock. Also local assembly were Challenger RT, Charger, Duster and Valiants.
Most high performance models like my swiss 440 six pack Challenger was imported on request directly from the US: also some Hemi were imported, like a 71 Challenger for owner of Circus Knie. There were no modifications to interior.
ALso very common at the time were Barrcuda 340, JH23H, somewhat rare in the US

First off, welcome to the site!  Secondly, that's some very cool information about your Barracuda & how it was actually assembled over in Europe. :2thumbs:  The car looks great and really has some neat history to go along with it!  I can honestly say I never saw a vintage MoPar while on my 5 month stay in the Netherlands (Zwolle), but I know there seems to be quite the following for them as shown on this forum alone.  It's really cool many Europeans have as much of a passion for restoring muscle cars as people do here.
1973 Dodge Challenger......................The ongoing project. (00/----\00)
1991 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin-Turbo....The sunny day cruiser (RTBoost)
1990 Toyota Celica GT Liftback...........The new daily & winter driver.
All-American Muscle: 'Cudas and Challengers...Still the Elite and always will be.

many had reclining Recaro seats, while E body were stock.

Here's a pic from the "stock" reclining seat.
I think they're custom-made in Europe. The welding on the hinges looks like :poopoke:, and there is a problem with the seatbelts.
They don't roll up because the reclining handle sits there.. :screwy:
Now I know why it had really bad looking seatbelts, they did work and the U.S versions don't :clueless:...

174888 is a JH23H08 Challenger.

08 174921 is an export Barracuda, but I do not know what engine it had.

I have not heard of your car or the other one you mentioned before.

The 8 took the place of the B plant code (Hamtramck) for cars that were exported incomplete.

Barry
Hey Barry,

The car you mentioned, is for sale in Switserland.
And yes, It's a 340. The laufnr is 13109, so i'ts in front of mine...

For now this car is the oldest known to exist. The VIN ends with 921, the second ends with 925, and then mine with 926..
The Red car mentioned in this tread has a new Dutch owner, I met him last week at a saturday night cruise here in the Netherlands.
