Does anyone know where to buy a rebuilt 833 other than Passion Performance or  Brewers? Has anyone had any dealings with this folks. Thanks

I bought the Passon Hemi OD. So far all I can say is that it fit great and the service from Passon was good. Winter is still with us in the interior of BC so too many rocks on the road to test it. Only waiting for my new shifter from Brewers to complete the job. Original shifter just felt too loose for me so will sell it when the car is running.

I ordered a rebuilt shifter, all the linkage for it and a new clutch linkage set from brewers and I was pleased with all of the parts and the customer service.

I live just a few miles from Brewers and have dealt with them for years.  Can't say enough about their knowledge and service.

Thanks for the input. I had also looked at the Hemi OD, but its kinda pricey. You can buy a Keisler 5sp for about 3 to 400 $'s more. I had one in a Chevelle and loved it.  But with money the way it is a rebulit trans from either one will be a good buy.

For the money, I like the A-833 OD tranny.  It's kinda like a 3 speed with OD, but the ratios aren't bad:

I lifted the info from slantsix.

1964 thru midyear 1966 A-body 3.09:1 - 1.92:1 - 1.40:1 - 1:1 = G/RG and LA engines. (These all used a 4.35" IBR.)

1964 thru 1970 B/RB engine 2.66:1 - 1.91:1 - 1.39:1 - 1:1 = (The "close ratio" V8 gearbox)

1970 T/A & AAR 340s 2.47:1 - 1.77:1 - 1.34:1 - 1:1, = 1970 thru 1974 high performance
(A 2.44 first gear was also produced in this time period and some units had 1.91:1 second gears.)

1975 thru 1987 Overdrive 3.09:1 - 1.67:1 - 1:1 - 0.73:1 (Trucks used a 0.71:1 fourth)
