Flywheel Interchange?

My machine shop got all my stuff done so I can put it together and he told me my new 11" flywheel is off a 400.  he surfaced it and balanced everything up but I wanted to be sure this isn't going to be a problem putting it on a steel crank 440.

400s were all internally balanced except the 71 so likely it would not balance properly on a steel crank 440

If he balanced it neutral, then it's balanced...340 318  361 383 413  426 440 all with neutral balance, And I am assuming that the readers do already know im talking about 6 bolts and specfic yrs.  Neil, it would balance if the machinist did balance it to neutral. No matter what

it would need to have the holes welded in to balance it up , if it was balanced as an assembly it will be fine

No welding done, but a bunch of holes were drilled. I guess I better call him and see how he balanced it but I would think he did it as an assembly. sounds like there is no problem other than balance though right?

no other issues , there are 2 flwheels 1 130 tooth & the other is 143  , both take an 11" clutch but they are totally different requiring different pressure plates & belhousings

An 11" flywheel for a 400 would have to have been originally out of a truck.

It is a 143 tooth, I have no idea what it came out of but it looked like new. would being out of a pick up matter?

10.95 scallop should be it  with 130 tooth

so what belhousing do you have , is it cast iron or alum , the cast iron housing is the correct one , there were some 400 4spd cars built as well
