Installing Cuda Quarter Glass - Need Help
« on: February 20, 2010 - 11:49:35 PM »
I need some more help. It's been a few months since I removed the quarter windows from my Cuda to replace the glass and refurbish the stainless. Well, thinking that I would get around to re-installing the windows before I would forget how they came out, I made the egregious error of not documenting how it all goes back together.

I have two bolts -- a long and short one -- and a spring. The picture below shows one of the windows when I removed it. I've highlighted the holes where the bolts go that will mount the window to the tracks. I pretty much know how to get the window back in place on the tracks, but I'm just not sure which bolts go where AND I cannot remember for the life of me where the spring goes.

Can anyone help?

This is great -- the diagram does help me. It looks like the spring goes on the smaller bolt that goes into the lower hole. Thanks so much!

These situations are why I love digital cameras. Everything seems like it would be easy to reassemble when you are first taking it apart. Then six weeks, months, years go by and then it becomes a real head scratcher. I think it's happened to everybody.

Yeah. The kicker is that I have been taking photos of the parts as I remove them from the car. The pictures certainly helped when I had to put my heater panel back together. However, in this case, I thought I was going to get back to reassembly much sooner than I did. I should've known better.

the spring does go on the shorter center bolt , the longer bolt goes through the arm of the regulator
