Car is a 73 Challenger with a TCI tranny (727 wannabe). I have kickdown linkage set up and the trans will not come out of first gear. When I move the throttle by hand and look at the transmission kick down lever thurogh the engine bay, it seems to move through its' entire range. I have not tested it on the street, I have the rear end jacked up in the garage and I am watching the tach for rpm drops when it shifts. So the question is, 'Is this a good test?" or do the rear wheels need a load on them to get a good shift?
What I really want to know is how to adjust the kickdown.
Thanks so much;
