In the summer it started slipping, I checked the fluid to make sure it wasnt low...it was not low, but rather overfilled(from prior owner)...and the fluid was clean, not burnt. Now I got a day without snow covered roads and was driving to drop it off and my mechanics shop, and it stopped moving on the way. Checked the fluid, and it was bone dry..filled it up to limp it to the shop, and I couldnt get that tranny to slip to save my life...sooo, is it shot or not? did it run ok because it is so cold out? Will my mechanic be able to get a fair idea if its toast by dropping the pan? any thoughts are helpful, thanks.
