Aren't the quarters normally $400 each?  Wow!  That's an awesome deal!

Full quarters are about $400, but these are skins at about $200 each! Still not a bad deal, but not as great as it looks at first glance.

its all about time and money, Money and time.
I can put together a package deal on all of the sheet metal if your interested. I sold your dad most of the sheetmetal for his car. Yours is going to need a bit more it looks like,

This seems like a much more solid starting point.

I think everyone is concerned b/c it looks like Gordon jumped on the first car he came across and it is certainly not worth $2-3K if thats what you paid.

:money: Too late now, but you would have been better saving more of your money and not jumping right away. think if you would have waited a year, which is probably how long the M46 will take to bild, then you could have devoted more time and money into a better starting point.

Its a learning experience, we've most all been here but we tried to save you.  :walkaway:

 :iagree:

but it is your car, you build it the way you want to. We have all been there (most of us) jump into something before evaluating the whole picture.

On a brighter note... a car that needs alot will get alot. Manual labor and elbow grease are cheap (especially when you're young!). I've seen 10K cars that need alot, although not easily noticed. 10K goes a long way on a "rust bucket". Then when it's finished (are they ever?) they're right. Plus the experience is priceless.  :2cents: Just my thoughts

:iagree:  I was pretty sure that $1800 was the number I was hearing.  If you really got it for less than $600 (shipped), good for you.  It's too bad it's not closer to you...this is one of those projects that needs a little every night.

I told your dad about a 70 grand coupe for 900 in Mississippi,  but you have a car now, and im sure you will make it as good as you can.  It should be at your dads now right?   You probably have close to a yr to start picking up all the little stuff you need to get started. Im fairly certain your dads car will be done before yours gets any serious attention anyways. You have a lot of thousand dollar bills to go yet, so take your time, it will come full circle for you.

Well thank u for one of the only constructive comments towards my car. I know his will be mostly if not done before mine gets anywhere besides sitting parts on it. Ok I'm going to break this down so everyone understands and can get off my butt about this car. I got this car for around 600 or so. So I really don't think that's asking to much for that car considering my dad has so many parts for it just because his cars getting all new parts. So my theroy on all this is I only had that amount of money to spend on the car so I went ahead and picked it up cause it seemed like a really good buy for the money considering most of what its missing my dad has spare of. So it made the most since to me to buy this car. I appreciate all the constructive comments but at times most of u have seems to just bash me for even considering this car. There have been a lot woerse cars restored so why not this one. Especially since its a barracuda, this car is fixable therefore it needs fixed not parted out. We need to see more of these on the road and if u guys wanna bring me down for wanting to do that then so be it. I do love this cars though and I know wants this car gets some major tlc it will be back to its former glory days. And ya the car is at my dads now  :picture:
