Where is the trunk light switch located on 1970 cudas?
How does it look

It's right in the light unit and somehow works by the position of the trunk lid.  When you close the trunk, the light does goes off (if it's working right).

Mercury switch inside the light housing.  Uses the optional pigtail in the dome lamp wiring to supply the black wire to power it.

If this is what you have you can't see the switch. Like FY1Cuda & ShelbyDogg said, it's a mercury switch inside the housing. I hooked my ohmmeter to it and it does work. As the housing gets tilted the reading goes from infinity to zero ohms.

Might want to put a hidden switch down by the trunk hinge so that you can leave the trunk up, with the light off.

Thank you for the replays and the pictures.
I had a little confusion with the mercury switch.
I had to check the word in the dictonary......
The problem is now, I know what's a mercury switch,
but I can't buy a similar switch in Switzerland (Mercury is not more allowed).

I have to search one in US.

Go to any scrap yard and look in different makes and models. Many cars had this mercury switch in the trunks and under the hood.
