Good work. I should also install new inner fenders next. Is there some reason to use those spot welds instead of weld whole side?

Welcome to the forum! They look closer to factory if you plug weld them (minus the little pinch weld dimples). It would take forever to seam weld them in.

That's gotta be a relief.

Has the ringing in your ears stopped from grinding?
My Tinitus would act up really bad after tons of grinding even while wearing headphones.

Had a really bad time with my ears last winter, but I've been VERY careful with them for a year now. The ringing has been gone for a long time, and are actually better than before I started on this project. It is a relief to be done with the panel hanging for sure!  :faint:

Just doing my part to keep the aftermarket sheet metal industry rolling!

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

No way Bart!  :grinno:

I got more accomplished today: Wet sanded the top of the firewall that is covered by the upper cowl with 240, cleaned with laquer thinner and painted with POR 15. I then sealed the duct opening flanges with NP 1:

I then welded the upper cowl in:

I'll clean up the welds, then it's finally time for the floor!  :faint:

I'm at this stage with my car right now and I'm wondering what condition the POR15 is in after the welding was done - blistered?
Also, did you apply any seam sealer in the joins between the upper and lower cowls? I cannot see any in the photos.

Here it is in it's new place. I had to run a couple of electrical circuits for my welding machine and air compressor, or I would have had more done on the car. I pulled the trigger on my RMS suspension, removed the factory rear suspension, and am in the process of fitting the new wheels tires, and Dana rear.
In total, I will narrow the rear around 4". I special ordered the Lynx  setup fully weld in, without all the U-Bolt thingys. More progress shots, and more to come next week....
