Thanks a bunch Bart! I'm pretty motivated right now and realize that if I get past the shell and bodywork, everything left will be gravy!   Looking forward to when I'm as far along as you are!  :2thumbs:

Keep up the good work Mike.  :2thumbs:

Wait till you get where I'm at. So close on bodywork you can taste it but so hesitant to say "it's good and I'm done". That's a scary feeling. Just one more block and then just one more. Wait, I need to be sure.

Thanks so much Mike! I'm glad you are getting close to paint. I'm also glad you are being so cautious. Some people who look at my work, ask why I'm trying so hard to make it look as right as I can when no one will ever see it after everything is put back together. The problem is, I'll know if my car is hacked together... can't do it!
This is a heck of a lot more work than I envisioned, but I am not put out at all. I'm learning a bunch, and having a ball!  :2thumbs:

Can't wait to see your 'cuda in paint.... keep it up, then take a weekend and get some fishing in!

Mike, a couple of things- I believe you said you weren't a bodyman in an earlier post; forget that, you sure as Hell ARE, now! The other thing is to say thanks for doing and showing/sharing what you've done; I think that mine is pretty rough and a slog and you're inspiring me to keep my head down and keep going, that there IS a light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks man and I'm looking forward to seeing the car done. Roll on! :clapping:

Mike, I've said this one before here, but just remember why you are doing what you are doing...Afterall, if it was a simple engine swap or a trans swap, you wouldn't be having all the fun your having now...

Again, One helluva job..I know all too well about patching rust before you can get to the "fun" things...

Keep on keepin' on bro. I applaude your effort in choosing to repair rather than replace, as most woulda just swapped in a replacement pan...?It takes a certain kinda person to do what you are doing...Well done, well done......

Thanks Jackie, Jimynick and Cooter! I really appreciate all the kind comments. Still moving along... This is something else I haven't been looking forward to. I decided to try and save my transmission crossmember. I bought a chunk of 12ga. sheetmetal, cut out some "Paper dolls" out of poster board and hit up my long time companion "Grinder". Here's what I have done so far. I plan on having this finished by the end of the weekend.

More soon....

You are a better man than I am.  It almost seems like there is nothing that you can't do.

Keep up the faith and the extremely good work!

Thank you Final Challenge and usraptr. My encouragement comes from everyone's kind comments, and from seeing the progress of projects like both of yours. I am sure my car is "save-able".... now!  To me, this is just a bunch of fun now that I have some repairs under my belt. My crossmember repair is pretty much finished, other than cleaning up some welds. I used tubing for the pass throughs for the E-Brake cable, brake line and fuel line.

More soon!  :working:

There aren't going to be any torsion bars on this car, my friend.

Dang Mike....I think you are being modest when you say you are "New" to this stuff..Looks like you been doing this a while..Crossmember looks amazing.. And here ithought my own Chally was rough. Your thread should serve as a reminder to all who think their car/ a car is too far gone...Excellent work!

I have to agree with Cooter.

That is some nice work you have there.  Can't wait to see more.
