Thanks again guys! This is my first time this deep into one. My dad had me welding at 8 yrs old (a few weeks ago  :icon16:) and I bought my first car at 15. I've done only engine and mechanical work, maybe a couple 20 ply bondo jobs here and there. I was a suspension / alignment / tune-up mechanic at "drive by automotive" prior to the navy. I haven't even played with cars for around 15 years, got into Harleys and ski boats. I do quite a bit of fabrication in my refrigeration and boiler repair business. I also have been repairing this car for a year now!  Enough of that  :blah: :blah:....

Got a little more done this weekend. Banged out a pretty nasty jack dent out of my rocker and did a little more minor patching. Dressed up my new crossmember.

Not a heck of a lot of work done this week due to being pretty busy with my job. I pretty much finished the driver side inner rocker and fabricated the forward seat brace. Working on the passenger side today (Sunday).

This is next....

This is a repair of a TOTAL hack job by the previous owner, or agent of. This patch was made of 24ga. sheet metal and one of the ugliest things I've ever seen, other than a stray dog my ex took in years ago (I wouldn't invite guests to my house, I was so embarrased).... but that's another story!

Getting to the end of it Bart!  :jumping: Notice how far forward on the car I am now. Will only have cleaning and very minor patching at the engine compartment area.

'Ya know Mike, I used to be "ok" with what you and many others here would prolly consider "Hack jobs", as I was more concerned with function over form..However, I find myself striving to do my fab work to the level as you and many others are here. My boss the other day while I was repairing a Floorboard in a Plain 'ol Jeep as We don't usually do this type work, but the customer requested it be repaired "Correctly" as he had paid someone to do it before and they simply patched over rust. So anyway, the boss comes over and says "Hey, this ain't no resto job here, just get it through a sticker"....I replied "Hey, my name is on this as is yours and I want it to at least look like a professional did the work"..The Boss agreed and Allowed me to repair it my way....So, just when you think nobody studies your posts, think again they have a bigger effect than you think...

Thanks Bill. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your progress.

A little update on my project:

Rocker repair:

Trial fit of the door hinge pillar:

I'm going to pull the new hinge pillar back off temporarily to do some firewall / cowl repairs. It's pretty easy to get around there right now!
