    I thought I would post this as a follow up to my cheap 1" torsion bar post.

    I just ordered a set of Bilsteins for my car from Hotchkis for $340 by using their "pres" coupon code for Presidents day.

    That price puts them in line with the Edelbrock IAS shocks from for around  $310 a set, but the Bilsteins have a limited lifetime warranty and are the shocks that Firmfeel and the Hotchkis TVS system use for our cars.

    Not bad considering Firm Feel sells them for $425, thanks for the information.

    Thanks for the link.  I was wanting to get a nice set of shocks for my 'Cuda.  I think I'm gonna order some soon.  Do you know how long they will run this sale?

    QA1 just introduced a line of aluminum body, fixed rate shocks  for around $90 a shock. Cool thing about these is they look just like their adjustable units, only without the adjustment knob, and they can be custom valved and rebuilt.

    Sure. Ebrock only offers off the shelf set ups, nothing custom. QA1 will change up valving if you want, plus if you ever do wear them out, you can have them rebuilt.

    I'm sorry, I should have clarified. Do you think the non adjustable QA1's are better than the non adjustable Bilsteins out of the box. Can those RCD Bilsteins be rebuilt?

    I don't know, but it will tell you before the checkout is complete, so if it isn't you can not finish the order.

    Don't worry Boydsdodge - everybody seems to get their share of toy money when working on an E body.  I have a Firmfeel stage 3 steering box sitting on my workbench waiting for the spring thaw and will be ordering the fast ratio arms from them soon.  I just needed to order the sway bar tabs, and saw that Hotchkis had the shocks on sale, saving me about $85 over the Firm Feel price. :money:

    I'd say it depends on the application to some degree. The twin tube of the QA1 will feel better to a lot of people, the mono tube of the Bilstein will perform better on the track for longer. The do look considerably different, so that may be a factor for some buyers as well.
