Got a couple of things done today 8)
« on: March 05, 2010 - 09:16:44 PM »
Rolled the candy beast out of the garage since it was so nice again. Swapped out some wheels and tires that I bought from Mike Tyler a while back. Installed the Dales Cuda Shop door handles that are Challenger specific, man they fit sweet! I will put up some before and after pics. Not much of a change but at least the center caps are the right year now. I love the polished 70 trim ring and plan on putting them all around. I know its not the right year but they make the wheels and tires pop so much more imo.

Cool :2thumbs: I am going to do the exact same thing, and with the exact same wheels! I am going to yank the 72-4 rallyes ( look exactly like yours) from the Challenger and put on the new 15' rallyes (exactly the same as yours, except tires) that I got from a member

The centers and bright trim rings came with the tires. They came off a members car when he went to a different wheel. I would look on Moparts or here and pick up 70-71 centers as they come up for sale or you can buy them from most restoration shops as a set.

that looks real good  :clapping:    almost ready to cruze ,huh....   :2thumbs:      I have 15"ralleys for my car but I`m trying to get someone to trade them for a couple of steelies....  no luck yet  :dunno:

so, is this the startsign for finishing your build?  it`s way too nice to leave it in the garage  :grinyes:  what engine do you have for it?
I`ll start working on my car next weekend... cold or no cold....  :burnout:

Thanks Dutch, I have a 400 but its low compression so I am going to go through it and at the very least put a set of pistons in it to make it healthier. If things ease up some I will build a stroker out of that 400. I will badge the car out as a base Challenger with 383. I sure wish I could cruise right now.

I would love to drive it there. Adding up the miles is definitely an expensive proposition. To be honest I would be more likely to drive it to Vegas than way back east. Its definitely not out of the realm of possibility though.
