Well I spoke to the editor of Mopar Action tonight and it seems they are doing the same thing as we are. Investigating it farther. I will definitely keep everyone posted on what we uncover. I appreciate all of the positive feedback. I know Joel appreciates it as well so thank you guys.

Thanks,
Shawn

You may want to check the thread at the link below also;

It sounds like the only "proof" is the fake title?  :dunno:

If the car were mine and the Elvis connection legit, I would have all of the i's dotted and t's crossed regarding ownership history before the car would be for sale.

Nice 340 cuda.  But fake title and hard to believe story make this car seem like a total scam.

Some would call me a "hater" but I prefer "suspicious mind".

It's unfortunate, but because of all the fakes and scams that are out there, a lot of people, myself included, are skeptical when cars like this come up, and there is very little proof to back up the claims.  It would definitely be a good idea for the seller to get all his/her ducks in a row before listing.  I hope he is able to connect all the dots, because it would really make for a cool car and history.

So much for your "straight shooter"?  :dunno:

"It is the fact that this is a high caliber, turn key Cuda where no expense was spared." Uh,quickie engine paint and trunk paint over wiring and everything-I don`t think so!It is a very nice driver `71 cuda but nothing more than that.

Everytime I see someone say "honest" or "straight shooter" or something similiar right off the bat I get suspicious....and BTW it's more than OK to be suspicious with any car claim  :grinyes:

The owner was bummed out about all the Elvis attention the car was getting so decided to sell.  Now that the Elvis connection has been proven bogus, the car will get much less attention and the owner can now relax, keep the car, and enjoy it.

I see that the car is no longer for sale on eBay. Maybe the owner has decided to keep it now after all.

I agree that the car is very nice, but certainly not "no expense spared" as the ad stated.

So at what point does he state clearly that there is no supporting documentation other than a PROVEN BOGUS TITLE?  This is why people get pissed off when sellers try to portray a car as something it is not.  How about a link from the listing to the MA findings and their recanting of their previous story?  I also like how he spins it, basically saying they have no proof, but gee whiz, maybe Elvis did own it.  Well guess what, I have a 73 Challenger that maybe Paul Newman owned, or Michael Andretti, or maybe even Richard Petty himself.  I don't know, but we have "suspicious minds".

I'm still confused why they would fake a title (if it is fake) with the name Carmen Sandiego....would just raise a flag looking at it....  :dunno:
