    Mods I dont know if this should be in electrical or parts wanted or what I'll leave that to you.

    Its a balmy 44 outside here today, so I made it out to the garage. Thought I'd get my wiper motor out and get it built. But as with all good intentions the horizon has widend considerably. First I crack my brain on the hood latch (hence my poll!) Then I undo some tape around the plug to the wiper motor.... half of it is missing!! The half thats on the main harness.  :stomp:

    Does any one have a plug end they could sell me?? Or does somebody sell them aftermarket??

    So I start removal of the motor.. the wiper trans was NOT connected to it!! And there was no clip to hold it (maybe fell into the inside of the cowl??) My wiper arm did briefly move awhile back, and I swear I can hear the motor running. I was guessing that the transmisson in the motor was bad. Now I need to invetigate futher. Also my linkage arm coming off the motor is really worn.

    Who's got the bench test procedure to test this motor??? I'm sure I've seen it here somewhere before....

    Anyone have an arm and a clip I could buy?? Or are they available some where? I'm sure Tom at R/T will have the clip I need but the arm??

    BTW official garage temp about 31

    Another question comes to mind... is this the correct motor for a 70 R/T??  :clueless:

    And who paints a firewall w/o removing the motor???  :screwy:

    Unfortunately I can't help you with the parts.  My Charger harness and motor did not mate either and I had to do the exact same type of hack job to get the motor working  :crying:  Jules Diadado (sp?) will be able to help you with the motor ID questions.  Good luck with that.  :2thumbs:

    Bigs there is a member on this board called   Jules The Wiperman  work is supposed to be very good but has been a little slow on delivery.    :cheers:

    Kim at Passionfor Mopars does bench testing. I sent my 74' wiper motor to her for that same thing and most likely a rebuild. Very helpful and knowlegeable over the phone.
    I've been having wiper fun for weeks now and hoping to get them solved.

    Well I found a connector that would work but it is not from a challenger. It doesn't have the index key on one corner. You can have it if you would like, but it's not quite correct.

    Wrong wiper motor.

    But the wiring should come off the motor and plug into the bulkhead. Do you have some kind of adapter going on there?

    Jules did my motor in a month but a friend sent him a very large order and that took a year.

    Shawn, do you got a pic of your setup???  Now I'll have to trace the wires and see where they go... yay! Alltho this does not come as a surprise to me......

    Now that I look back through your photos it looks like you have a later 3spd, later style park switch and the date code of  73.

    Here is a clip and linkage I found off either a 72 or 73 Challenger but the part number is 3431518 and the number below it reads 58622. If it will work pm me and I'll hook you up.

    Jules will have everything you need.....I too had wrong motor and linkage on my 70 RT/SE and he sold me everything even a date coded motor for my car.....very helpful guy

    OK my motor seems to look the same as Shaun's pic, maybe the pigtail a hair shorter.  :dunno: The plug that I thought needed, appears to be just an extension of some sort coming off the bulk head. I see no reason why someone would put that in there, as the plug on the motor looks like it would reach the bulkhead. UNLESS THE ORDER OF THE WIRES WERE CHANGED TO WORK ON THE MOTOR I HAVE???? According to my interchange the motor I need is 70-71 only. But for example, my GTX motor looks the same, but the plug is totally different...  :screwy:

    That is a 73 and later  motor.  The wire terminations are just a little different.  My car had the same modification done, so they could run the cheap and plentiful 73 and up style wiper motor instead of the hard to find earlier type.  I am not sure which wires have to be changed because my car also has a 73 type wiper switch in it.  At some point I will need to figure it out to swap it back the way it is supposed to be.  I thought about leaving it so that I could use the later wiper motor, but It is pretty easy to spot the different wiper motor cap..
