     :iagree: The first couple changes should wash out all the grease and lube that was slathered on during the rebuild.  That's one of the reasons why the first oil change should be done after a small number of miles.

    Oil pressure is resistance to flow. The 4hole plate may have had something to do with the decrease as there is much less restriction with the 90° adaptor vs the plate. I drill more holes in those plates when I build one. The dark oil may be a better detergent ion the new oil. I would not sweat it much. It's also washing out the other oil. What is the max pressure you see now when it's hot? 50psi is fine unless you're reving beyond 5K rpm and the fact it climbs tells me it's not a big deal. I woudl do two things before you panic... First... By a Wix filter. You may have a stuck bypass in the filter. I know Wix filters are good. I've never used K&N. also, I would upgrade the oil to at least 15-40 an preferably 20-50. I think the slight loss in power by running the heavier oil isnt going to be noticed and it will give you the protection back.

    The motor is TOAST......I pulled one cap off a rod, it told the whole story. Time to pull the motor...........

    Do you have any come back on the engine builder? Are the bearings wiped out or burnt? Was the crank machined in the engine rebuild, I had a motor once where the machine shop forgot to linish the crank pins and as soon as I drove onto the on ramp of the freeway they wiped the bearings, less than 3 miles on motor    :villagers:

    Didn't want to say anything against K&N filters as a couple of mates have used them and won't use them again, they advised me not to also and I haven't. Wix    :2thumbs:

    I will ask the builder to ''participate'' in the rebuild. He's a stand up guy, I think he'll help. I didn't pull the crank bearings, I was too busy puking and crying like a baby when I saw the rod cap.
     The crank is a virgin 4'' Mpoar performance crank. I'm going to pull the motor ASAP, I've got in my garage, so I no longer have the luxury of my buddies work shop. I've got the car jacked up on jack stands, doing this work on my back sucks......

    What a shame.  Looks like it was tight, but not spun right?   Did you mic the crank before installed for clearances?   .002 to .0025 on the rods and .00275 / .003 on the mains should of been good
