Shift Light Question
« on: September 25, 2004 - 06:42:19 AM »

When you buy a shift light does that mean that once it's hooked up it replaces your original tacho?
So basically I'm asking if I can have both my TIC TAC TOC and the tacho?

Thinking of getting a little 3-3/4" one for below me somewhere outta sight, no show like those little gimpes in there rice.  8)

Thanks,
Carl

Good question Carl... I just think it's funny to see automatics with shift lights... since my 'Cuda never came with a tach, I do like to know what RPM I'm at, so I'm going to be mounting a BIG 5" white face tach somewhere in the cockpit area... but no shift light for me... I'll save that for the racers, ricers, and stick shift cars!! :P

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of shift lights full. Automatics, I can definitely see using them since 80%+ of cars at tracks are heavy duty Autos I can see why they need them. 1.6l sloppy shifting Honda auto's LOL!! Now thats just funny.  ;D

Funny thing is most of these guys love to show off there lights by placing them where Mr Hoffer can see it. They forget one thing, we can see when they are really pushing the car so there's no "I was only 1/2 throttle"  ::) 8) BS!! I saw you little shift light!!

Anyhow I would just like to in the heat of battle have two places to check my shift points, sometimes the Tacho in the Challenger is a little hard to read. I would get a shift light but it would be one of those pencil sized ones. I'd place it under my steering column so It will still catch my attention but only I can see it. Purposely used not for show.  8)

Thanks CP and Mike.
