Stored on the floor?? (Moisture/water)
A wet unit (tranny fluid) can last an amazingly long time depending on conditions.
Plus I know a secret or two..hehehe

I would definitely open it back up and at least look through everything. It might be good to go, but not worth taking the chance. Plus, you should definitely plan on replacing all the gaskets and seals. Sitting dry for 20 years is not good for them.

If everything was lubed good and moisture stayed out of it it should be good to go. This is what I spray on the pump, shafts, washers gears etc. whenever I am doing a transmission that I know is going to be setting for a while.
