    Instrument Cluster Removal (Just the Bezel)

    I should know this, but it's been so long.

    Do you have to remove/loosen the dash to remove the instrument cover.  I'm putting an overlay on and need to remove it for installation.

    You should just have to remove the light bar.  If it is a rallye dash, you will have to remove the gauge cluster first, then the switch panel, I believe.  You should also remove the steering wheel and drop the column a few inches.

    Dropping the steering column helps. The switch bezel needs to come out first though after you remove the light bar. I just flip the light bar up onto the dashpad. The switch bezel interlocks with the gauge bezel, so getting them back in takes some messaging.

    That's right.  When I put mine in, I hooked up the switches on the panel and left it hanging, then put the panel and gauge panel together and worked them in together.  Quite the pain in the butt.

    any tips on bending the new repo wood grain panels on the guage clusters?

    THe wood grain scratches very easy.I would cover the corners with blue tape.

    I still haven't got around to this.  I'm actually removing a woodgrain decal and replacing it with a Carbon Fiber decal.

    Any tips on removing the old decal?

    If it's still in decent shape your best bet will be to just put the new one right over the top.  That's what I did with mine and it is fine.  Besides, I think the originals were etched on, as opposed to being deals themselves (but I could be wrong).  I believe I just roughed up the original with some sand paper.
