what kind of lube for 727 assembly
« on: March 11, 2010 - 10:24:51 AM »
I have Munroe's book on torquefilte and in several places ther's "assembly lube" term used. What kind of lube should be used? I mean no brand but what compositon of lube? Graphyte, lithium, copper? our shops do not carry your US brands but I can look for a given composition. I know it must be something not interacting with ATF and seals...

one guy sells something like this on polish version of e-bag:

$25 for a can.

Wheel bearing grease from the parts store is fine for holding thrust washers and stuff in place. Transmission fluid in a squirt oil can is fine for other areas.(pump gears, bushings etc.)

I have used that and the blue stuff also. Good stuff and it melts to atf. It was about 13$ here.

thanks! I was especially anxious about putting wrong product into the governor which is very sensible to lubrification.
