You know, getting back to work on the Challenger has been refreshing!  We're getting back on track.    First we installed the heat/sound shield.  Here's four pics for those who like to examine photos.

Then we installed the carpet with a little 3M adhesive to hold it in place.  We'll go back and tack in some more when we do the kick panels.  Also you'll notice the A/C controls are in as well as some of the duct work.

In these pics you see where we drilled out openings for PVC / breathers in the valve covers... Thank goodness for a drill press and large bits!  ... Also we installed the polished billet aluminum spark plug wire guides and started the process of securing the MSD 8.5mm wires.  In the last pick you see due to our headers the guide wouldn't bolt directly to the valve cover, so we fabricated standoffs out of polished stainless steel tubing.

I played around with a rusted fender a bit

Made my own rough cut dogleg and clamped it down

Still need to make the inner gutter but it seems to be going OK

Hey 4C.  We got it off ebay.  It comes in 4'X10' rolls and goes on pretty easy...cut to size, spray both surfaces with adhesive, press in place and seal with tape.  Pretty easy, just time consuming.

Well... I got a lot accomplished if you consider getting one thing DONE!! :o 8) ;D ;D ;D

There's an aluminum piece that goes along the rear of the decklid... I posted some progress pics of it last week, but now, it's completely finished!!! :o 8) ;D :D There was a thin layer of paint on top of the whole thing, so some #00 steel wool took EVERYTHING right off, and now it looks like it's polished aluminum!!! :o :o I masked it off to repaint the red stripes on it, and she looks amazing!! 8) ;D :D

Thanks guys for the encouragement.  Seems like we have 30 parallel mini-projects going on at once.  Like our alt, ps, and ac brackets (still adjusting/ fabricating) , A/C compressor lines (we ordered some different fittings to route a different way), A/C unit installation, we have to make a bulkhead plate..... finish the fuel line (#8 AN fittings should arrive this week), looking for headliner bows (5 set), pondering the layout of ignition components, bought  MATCO hog ring pliers and a pile of rings, so the seat recovering project is coming up, looking for Gator Grain (challenged a local trim guy whose been in the business for 30 years shop to find it -- "keep hope alive"), Demon linkage conversion, radiator installation -- well thats just off the top of my head.  Always a list of things to work on.  ;D

4C, here is the kind we bought and used.  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6763&item=7923507194&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

We bought 2 rolls and have about 4' left over.

My brother tried the kind in the second link you showed.  He didn't like it at all because it didn't conform to the shape of the body very well.

360...looks awesome...I wish I had that skill!

LB, that looks great!!  Now that the paint is reapplied, it looks like NOS!

Thanks for the kind words NZ!
