Very cool on a van.  Not so cool on an ebody.
To each his own though.

I saw my star shaped window but didn't see my mushroom shaped window.
Thanks for the pics.

I remember a pic of a Cuda/Barracuda 72/73/74? that was floating around here many years ago.
I believe it was maroon with a white vinyl top with the opera window incorporated into it.
Anyone remember, or have that pic saved?

do you mean this?

Yea, I was just going to mention that to him.
I just viewed the pictures he posted on Photobucket and that car caught my eye as unusual.
Never seen one before! ( the window, not the car. )

 :iagree:

not to mention how much of the torsional rigidity is probably lost of the roof tying the body together.

Greetings all,

Back in the 90's I had a 1973 Challenger. I found the car in Oregon, and it had opera windows and a half vinyl roof. I have some pictures that I can try and dig up, but here's one that I found. The picture was taken in San Diego after I got back from Guam. Taking the car there was a mistake, I never thought about all the salt water exposure, and what it would do to a steel car :(

It was a 340 4 bbl car, slapstick auto car. The angle makes it hard to see them, but they actually looked pretty good on the car. Sadly, I sold it, and I didn't keep in touch with the buyer (he sent me an e-mail shortly after getting the car saying that he planned on cutting off the roof and turning it into a convertible).

Anyway, I will try and find some better pictures and post them.

Mike

How sad is right!
You sold it to someone who is ruining your car.

No one should even attempt to try this unless they have a donor car convertible.
And then why even do that if you did have a convertible in the first place.

Well, I've been going through some old pictures, and I found a couple more of my old Challenger that show the windows better. Here they are, enjoy.
