    Dash pad overlay

    Have anyone tested this one?
    dash pad?
    Quality?
    Other places to to from?
    I also need some trim to my challenger
    like the "curved ones on the rear front end of the fender" and one of the lower corners at the front windsheild

    Are these part hard to find
    I have looked at ebay but noticed that there is not much of them

    I got one from Bob. Nice fit, a bit thin though, but strong.
    In my opinion it's a bit too shiny and looks too much like cheap-plastic.

    But the price is definitely right, and I got it overseas in about 62 hours!!


    Later, I decided to have the dash-pad shot-blasted. I used the overlay as a mould, and had the
    dash-pad covered with this overlay, upholstered with black leather.

    I was and still am happy with the overlay!

    you will have to explain the way that was done to me soon... I have a cracked dash and I was thinking leather too... not sure yet how to tackle that though...

    Ok so it´s a bit cheap-plastic look then :(
    Found another to, about 30$ cheaper that look better on the pics but who knows..........  ???

    Black leather sounds nice but isn´t  that difficult to do?
    To make it follow all bends and curves without visible wrinkels and fold ?

    Hey Bart, you will finally have to visit me to have a look at the dash-pad!! :)

    I'm not sure about thickness, let's guess a good .7 millimetre. Not sure. But it is strong enough.
    It's very whibly-whobbly.

    My upholstry shop had a very hard time putting leather on it. They had to sow a lot, and fill up the blank between steel frame of the dash-pad and the overlay. But they did a great job, not cheap though. I could get some pictures of it tomorrow! Will post them over here.

    Bart, if you want to have your dash pad covered, plaese do not remove anything of your old one. It is easy to fill the cracks, and than cover the pad. But it's very hard to get a clean frame filled the right way. Reconsider covering with leather for putting an overlay on it. This last option is something you can do yourself.

    Doesn´t the dash looks "thick" when addaing that over the stock dash?

    I added two layers: the overlay and the leather. Will post some pictures tomorrow so you can determine if it's okay for you.

    Remember: your dashpad is about 140 cm so you won't find that .7 millimeters

    If you look at my thread that i started called Interior Upgrade thats a couple threads down there is pictures in what i did to my dash and how it looks now which is also covered in leather.

    Justins turned out good.  Check out the Chip Foose Terracuda too.  He had his done in leather... awesome!
