Bullitt that looks like a twin sister to our Chally at "birth", metalic gray with a black vinyl top, and yes it had bright blue interrior  :eek4: what a contrast of colors. Ours however was not a true rally model.

I can't even imagine that    :clueless:    You made a good choice going White/Blue

Can you imagine checking the V-top box on the order sheet & NOT checking A/C or Disck Brakes :P

My 70 440-6 Cuda originally came with a black vinyl top. It had been repainted without the vinyl and I have always thought E-bodies looked better without them, smooth clean lines make for a beautiful profile. My original plan was to leave the top off, but now the car will be going back as ordered, Vitamin-C, shaker, black vinyl top, no hockey stripe, magnum wheels and a luggage rack. This combination has really grown on me and I think it will good, be original and a little different.

My T/A is a vinyl top car but with the black hood it was just too much. The '74 did go back vinyl but being triple black there is not much contrast.

I remember reading somewhere that, originally the Chrysler designers didn't want to have vinyl tops on the e-body cars but that management insisted because they were such a popular option at the time.  I’m just glad they did because I think they look great.  Given a choice between similar hardtop and vinyl top cars, I'll take the vinyl top car every time.  To me, vinyl tops just seem like they fit perfectly into the whole muscle car nostalgia thing.

Breaks up the colour on certain models. I painted my charger -68 sublime green and without a black vinyltop it would have been to
much green. E-bodys can go either way.

Pretty much all of mine had factory vinyl tops, the Challenger and the butterscotch '71 Dart GT both had a white tops, both were removed long before I got the cars. The other '71 Dart GT has a black vinyl top and also needs a new roof on account of it.  :eek4:

I've seen some vinyl top/color combo's that I liked, the gator grain tops are pretty cool in person. But I'd never put one on any of my cars. Its just too much work. Plus, not all of my cars are exclusively garage kept, and that means no vinyl.

I'm almost 54, had my first Challenger in 1975 and all three of my Challengers have had vinyl tops, which is what I like best.  My 69 Camaro has a vt as well, but on that car I prefer the look without the vt.
