What heads?  What carb and ignition? What compression. These questions will help.  I run Champion J11y in mine.  906 heads  Stock mopar electronic. 11.5 compression.  3 carbs :2thumbs:

I have not tried Firecore wires but I have heard a lot of good things about them
MSD & Moroso Blue max spiral core are also good
Champon Plugs work well & are what I use mostly

Other than on Ebay I haven't seen Champion J11Ys for sale for many years.  Is there a supplier I'm not aware of or what do the people here run in their place?

Thanks, Jim

I run firecore wires on my car. AZNICK sold them to me. They were a perfect fit and work super good. Sold me on.  Old harley davidsons ran on J11y and J10y   I got a few boxes of them.  I find them on Ebay often and at old supply houses

NGK and Denso plugs will also work well; I use Taylor spiral core wires, and they have performed flawlessly for 22 years. I liked them for the custom fit I could get, with no too long or too short wires.

I will never run NGK plugs in anything , if they get slightly fouled they are the first plug to shut down & quit firing , I actually ran into this last week & was going to post pix , the plugs got dark with the choke on & started missing immediatly

I have an original new in the box set of RJ10y  still has the original warranty card in the box.  I don't use the resistor type in my car since I dont care about having a radio blasting.  If your interested in them, give me a shout.  Back in the late 80's I tried J12y and they didnt seem to work well for me. J10y has always worked well with my combos and also J11y was basicly for stock HP versions.   Im not sure how sea level affects the plug size vs fuel and jetting. But I have ran this type of plug at sea level and now at 600 to 850 ft above sea level. I have never ran under 91 octain with them and usually 110 octaine.  They work good when Idling with a cold engine and dont seem to fowl out easy.  I run a stock gap at  .035  was useing a dual point but have been running a stock chrysler electronic now for quite a while.

First I've heard of that with NGK. I'll make a note of it. I am using Denso, but never had issues with the NGKs I've used. I also run a wider gap with the Chrysler electronic ignition; this might be why I have no issues with fouling. I run a .045" gap with the electronic ignition; this seems to work well, especially with a hotter coil. I use the epoxy-filled coil from a later FWD Chrysler setup, and it fires pretty well, with a hotter spark than the stock, oil-filled coil ever had.

Aluminum heads sould require a hotter plug than an iron head; think about 2 steps hotter from what you ran in your iron heads. As for any modified engine though, trial and error will be the final arbiter.

I would contact Indy , you would probably end up with a Champion RC series plug , longer threads & the smalller 5/8 socket size

I sent them an email yesterday and they have not replied back as of yet.  I was thinking that since they are angled, the standard ones would not be long enough.  Thanks, will see what Indy says.
