I have mine under too, about 15 dollars with the relays and connectors.  My third relay is for the Fog lamps.

No one notices the stuff under the tray, and it doesn't seem to get wet at all.  I think Brad70 can attest to the rain driving during Carlisle last year!

I added the 3rd relay for the running/parking lights.
Just the front half, or did you run a wire back inside?

Used to have a writeup on my setup, but I've since quit hosting the site unfortunately.  Everyone has pretty much covered it pretty well. Going with HIDs relatively soon on mine, heck with halogens!

usually I just get them at the wreckers , all the newer vehicles are wired this way & use a std relay , I look in the Mopars usually , they have a fuse block under hood with typically 5-8 relays

I guess every electrical store should carry these - here we can buy relays in every auto store or shops carrying radio ham equipment (CB radios, auto alarms etc). They cost about $3/ea.

LOL - I got mine off a scrap '95 Jeep, but they weren't the ones in the box - I think someone had wired spot lights or something to it as well so it had these two on a separate bracket.

I took the black plastic relay/fuse box as well though and one day I might use it as a replacement for the rat's nest that's under my dash - double LOL

That's a bit steep - you can get a bag of 'em from china with brackets and tails for that sort of money.

If enough guys on here want them (and can't be bothered going down the junk yard) they should put in a bulk order.

I picked up 2 40 amp relays; some 14 gauge wire; a bunch of various wire connectors; and a fuse link today at Advance Auto for about $15.00    I looked under the hood -- followed the existing wiring.... got cold feet and decided to go look at Chryco's write-up a few more times.....

So -- where should I start (remember, this is all new for me  :22yikes:

I liked the idea of hiding them under the batterty tray -- but I think I'll focus on getting them installed & workng first.   Anybody got any pics of the various connecting/splicing locations?

if you hide them under the battery tray you will have to lengthen the wires , I cut the two wires behind the headlights on the left side

It is a pity that Goodys link is gone but if you follow Chryco's advise, do it slowly it really is easy. Take out the battery so you have more room, but identify which wires are which first.   :2thumbs:

FWIW I made Headlight jumpers so I didn't have to cut any original wiring.  Basically put spade connectors(properly sized) for the original harness to plug into the new setup.  They sell a replacement headlamp harness at the parts store for a couple bucks.  Using the original headlamp feeds as the "trigger" for the relay.  This way you can mess up the original stuff.  Add a line fused off the battery relay terminal for a clean stealthy look under the tray.  It is very easy, just take your time and make good connections.

Tom, or anyone else that has done this,

Do you notice a difference in brightness of the headlights? I have the relays and wires, but I haven't gotten to the mounting and hacking into the harness part yet.
