70 E body sequence numbers
« on: March 17, 2010 - 08:15:19 PM »

For the 70 E body what number did Mopar start counting?  I assume the company did not start at number one, was there a standard number that all Mopar cars started at or did they have different numbers for different models,,,,,,,,   bet thats confusing   , Example    antique farmall tractors start at serial number 501 and each model line of tractors again started at 501 however they were consecutive in that they did not start over at the new model year.........  Just wondering how Mopar did the numbers.......

Welcome to the site.

Both plants that built E-Bodies for the 1970 model year started assigning VINs at 100001 & went up from there.

But, both plants built other models, the E-Bodies did not have their own set / block of VIN numbers at either plant.
