she's here!
« on: March 23, 2010 - 10:21:15 PM »
my saga is over! She arrived late this afternoon.
US customs was kind enough to let her move out of the country! I have to say the 6 month wait was well worth it. My criteria for a 68' was all about a clean body! She's a tad oxidized, but will clean up with some effort. The brightwork for most part is in excellent shape, but dirty. overall she shows signs of sitting out in the California sunshine taking on the rays with bliss for far too long a time. She needs a really good bath to start being herself again. The inside is in pretty good shape with the sun taking some toll again. She shows 25 and change on the odometer, do you think its real? car has not moved much in the past 20 years. Sat in a garage till a few years ago, rarely taken out. I haven't had a chance to go over her yet, but in time. a few quick pics for your perusing. Now the biggie? What do I do with her? I kinda really didn't need another, but the hunt always gets the better of me! Anyone have some ideas?

Fold the trunk divider & rear seat down.

Sleep in it.

I never slept in mine much.  :naughty:

If you don't have room for it you can always "store" it with me,   :bananasmi   it would look good in my garage.    :woohoo:

Not then or now, no. I did propose in one though. Sadly, that worked. Briefly.

I am looking for a new one.

(no, not yours or anyone else's)

I would say if she is still original just keep her that way, looks like a paint job and some interrior freshing up will about do it. Looks to be otherwise in great shape, and would not be surprised if those are original miles if indeed the spedo is still working, the brake pedal shows no excessive wear.   :2thumbs:  You got a sweet one for sure.

Does it look like it was ever repainted? Or is it original?
