a liitle rant, since some are waiting for parts
« on: March 25, 2010 - 04:34:02 PM »
I have 4 people that are kinda waiting on me to ship parts to them. They have been waiting for a couple of weeks now, but not in a big hurry.....thank you guys

So I was down by New Orleans and worked yesterday till 2pm then drove untill 11pm last night to get home to ship parts on my way to New York. Which ment I had 2 days to do this. I was waiting for a pm to verify an address before I went into town to ship friday morning.  I got the address verified.  Now work calls me at 3pm today. I have been home for just a few hrs.  And they want me to go to South of Shreveport Louisiana for a critical start up job in Campti , La.   Which means I have to drive back south again and leave as soon as my helper gets here within 2 hrs. Mind you he is driving my stuff up from louisiana right now and been driving since 7:30 this morning.  We have to leave right back out right when he gets here. It just sucks..............................  And I am so sorry since I feel I am letting some down.  I dont even know where Im sleeping tonight.  Maybe Jackson Mississippi or close to it. Work all weekend then start my drive towards Water Town New York.  I am thinking I can go past my house on the way up there. But I have already driven close to 2000 miles this week, from Indiana to alabama, to ms, to la, then back here, now back to La. And still worked 60 hrs since then and still have to finish out the week working.

Talk about a little peeved n kinda tired.   I will not get into details as to what I have been doing since 7 am, but I haven't stopped yet.   So please accept this rant as a just vent of anger. Seems the whole world always stays broken in my trade.  I was supposed to fly down to Argentina, last weekend for a 2 day emergency, but the whole plant shifted 11 inches  (ground) due to the earth quake  and Other engineers have to get other things squared up before I can go now.

I just put my car on jack stands as was going to pull the exhaust, install headers and 3 inch system, pull the switch panel and install my new switches Slotts built for me, and install my new offset shackle kit from doc differential , since I bought some mickey et streets that require 10 inch rims.  Before all this I had to go to a different town and pick up supplies today, change the oil in 2 cars and by a fuel cap I left off at the pump last night at 930 pm while traveling home. And it's raining.  I was planning on working in my shop till the weee hrs tonight to get as far as I could on my car.  Now Im washing work clothes and packing to get this done for when my helper gets here , which will be very soon

SSSSSOOOOOOO  SORRY FOR THE RANT......But Im wound tight right now.   I still have to work in Chicago next week and longview tx at eastman before I get 2 for sure weeks off.    Im starting to realize why I am always tired. Im getting to old

Sorry you are flying so fast Alan. One of the positives you can take from your busy schedule is that when you get time to work on your car you dont waste it lounging around like I tend to do. I know also how it is when extra hours are required at work, maybe not the hectic pace you are running but I can relate to some degree. Its your work and its not like you can tell them to jump in a lake, its your living. Just hold on to the fact that soon you will have some time to spend on your car and all that you will get done then. Till then keep a firm grip on the wheel, a cool tune on the stereo and hammer on down the highway, 10-4?

With various posts about where you are going to, or coming from, I'm just trying to piece together what you do for a living. ??? You cover a lot of miles, have an assistant, the mention of Argentina means you must have a certain "in demand" skill....
Don't tell me, I'd like to figure it out myself over the next few months..

If your being paid correctly you'll make more this week than most of our employees will in a month.
 88 hrs I'm guessing with travel, that's brutal.....DEMAND A RAISE  :swear:

mmmmmmit's a living wade.   About the national average. But the ot and travel boosts it up fairly good, Since I work a lot and time and a half after 8 and all day sat n dbl time on sundays, it works to my favor. Plus we are employee owned, so we profit share at the end of each year.   Im not high up on the ladder like ceo vp or office manager areas, but my share for xmas is 30 to 45  and goes into my retirement.

I just hated having these 2 days off then it was taken from me. Im in Jackson ms tonight. I was home a few hrs ago :banghead:  Test and tune races start this sunday :sadwavey: and I wanted to ship some parts tomorrow.  Now if I can put about 32 hrs in fri n sat   then I may get home for 1 day

Hey Al take it easy, I know you basically have to do & go where they want you to but life was meant to be spent in a MOPAR with your wife cruising and enjoying each other.   :burnout:
I am being selfish though because I appreciate your good nature, humor & generosity and need for you to be around for a long time.

My goodness Alan,
you have more energy than most teenagers today. I honestly don't know how you do it. I'd be burned out in a week. Heck, I can't even get my 16 y/o to take out the garbage LOL :smilielol:Please be careful. I know most of the folks here luv you and wouldn't mind waiting for you to get some needed R & R. You do soooo much for others.....do something for Alan!! Take miss Peggy for a vacation!!

Just keep the ole peepers open Alan, hope ya get paid for travel time, the miles you drive are brutal. I can understand to some extent, for  quite a few years I had a job where we worked 10 and 12 hour shifts, we worked 14 days and were supposed to be off two days which rarely happened. Just be careful bro.  :2thumbs:
