plum crazy then and now
« on: March 25, 2010 - 05:32:36 PM »
Just picked up 2010 srt in plum crazy and it matches the 1971 plum crazy pretty good. The 2010 goes pretty good but thanks to Chryco not as much power as the 1971.

I like it. Haven't seen a detonator yellow one yet. Wonder how that looks

Pretty cool. I just saw my first plum cars this week on the front of the local lot. I'm hoping someday I can get one with a white stripe to match my 70.

I dig it. It pays homage to the original color and has just a bit more pop. Looks great beside that 71. I bet they will never turn out a Butterscotch one for me to put beside my 71 though   :grinno:

I think they did a great job with the new color.  It is a very close match.  Seeing the two together sure makes the 71 look like a small car, instead of a musclecar.

I test drove a yellow one. The colour IMO is fantastic! Not too dark, not too light, perfect shade. Very eye-catching like the new yellow Camaros.

With the PCP, I've bee into Mopars for a very long time, and I have never really cared for Plum Crazy at all on Mopars, it just never did anything for me. When I heard the PCP on the new ones, it still didn't do anything for me, I'm still considering orange, yellow or red. I received a call from a dealer here saying they got a purple one in, and suggested I come look at it. I didn't really care about it for a couple weeks, but had some time to kill last week and was in the area so I popped in. They only received 2. The R/T was sold within hours and the SRT was bought by the sales manager. The SRT was still in the back and I went to go take a look. It was a cloudy day, no sun, but when I saw the purple...wow! It looked so good on that car! Totally changed my opinion on that colour. My top choice is still orange, but I think I would consider purple over red and yellow, which are still awesome colours. Of course, being a huge fan of lime green since I was a kid, that all may change next year!

With these colours you definately have to see them in person. Congrats on the purple car! Nice choice. I still love seeing pics of old and new Challengers together! They look like Minis beside the new ones, I find that so funny!

:iagree:  Looks good, you will have to keep them together so neither gets lonely, in 30 years buy another to keep them company.   :cooldancing:

There is a Yellow SRT for sale at a dealership out by me in Blairsville PA. I nearly drove off the road when I had seen it. Its hard to miss. The color is perfect with the hood stripes.

hey Jim - they look great together!   I got to see my first plum crazy up close in Vegas this week - such a great color.  They match beautifully!
