1971 V code Superbee barnfind.
« on: March 26, 2010 - 08:49:01 AM »
***I posted this in the superbee registry thread but figured maybe it should be in the barnfind section instead. I have known about this car for 15 years and finally drove down to get some pics.

Me and my brother drove down and had a great 2 hour talk with a 79 year old mopar ethusiast. The story of this car is fit for a magazine and his collection backs up his passion for mopars. The pics here are of his 71 6 pack Superbee.

**Brief story on this car, he ordered it new, car was delivered at a price tag more then he could afford at the time. Him and his wife drove the car home to his farm for the weekend, shot film video of the car and had to return it. Years later seen the car broke down in the summer with the window party down, his wife slipped a note in the window and they ended up buying the car back. There actually a lot more to the store but that is the short. What an amazing husband/wife mopar couple.   :2thumbs:

Car is all original paint, seats have new covers....and he painted interior floors. Pretty cool car.     The previous owner sold the Dana out of the car too....and bought an 8 3/4   :banghead:  Otherwise its pretty much original. What a low option car, anyone care to elaborate on the numbers at the top of the tag?  :clueless:

Great story.  Always amazed at what can be found sitting in someone's garage.

That's just too cool.  Any more, do they drive it at all, air in tires, etc... Fairly low options.

Just crazy.

COOL FIND.

Cool car!

I wonder what those numbers are on to of the tag.

Like Devil asked, do they still drive the car?

Ya that drive the car on occasion in the summers. I think the old guy actually rebuilt the motor with a 512 stroker kit from 440source...lol. I was surprised to hear him say that, I personally would have kept it stock. Ya, very low optioned bench seat column shift car.

The car infront of that car is a 69 roadrunner, it has a 6 pack in it now, but the engine code is H, not sure what that is.

He also has a 73 numbers matching cuda white, white top car in the other garage. Since I was last there he sold a 73 charger drag car, had like 1000 miles on the body, was tubbed and roll cage. He also sold his 79 power wagon and a 30's coupe with a 392 hemi.

Lynch Road cars all have the odd codes at the top.

I don't recall exactly, but they have to do with gate #, line #, engine & trans, etc.

The car infront of that car is a 69 roadrunner, it has a 6 pack in it now, but the engine code is H, not sure what that is.

The H engine code in 1969 meant a 383.

TX9 (black) is the color of the inside of the upper part of the doors. This is supposed to be the same color as the interior. Our E-bodies have "000" , since our cars have full plastic door panels.

Hey Guys! I know this is a super old thread but this car may be available to me. It was verbally communicated through the estate that I was to be offered it if made available for sale so I have to make an offer. Does anyone have the original pics saved by any chance!
Thanks
Dave
