Phone Gun
« on: March 26, 2010 - 11:02:00 PM »
Most of us see airport security as a pain.

When you see the pictures below, you will
understand why they want our cell phones through
the x-ray machine.

Cell phone guns have arrived. And they are real.

Beneath the digital phone face is a .22 caliber
handgun capable of firing four rounds in rapid
succession using the standard telephone keypad.

European law enforcement officials are stunned by
the discovery of these deadly decoys.

They say phone guns are changing the rules of engagement in Europe.
Only when you have one in your hand do you realize that they are heavier than a regular cell phone.

I want one!

Too cool.

kind of seems like good personal protection for a female to carry in her purse.

You would be surprised what they can make, anyone ever hear of the all plastic guns?

While I'm in favor of being able to protect yourself (although it is illegal here in Canada), you would have a pretty tough time hitting anything with that unless you are already touching your target. :2cents:

Here is a video on it. You would probably more likely blow your toe off with it!

Yes when it is empty.   :villagers:  In close quarters like a plane somebody would get hurt.
Just remember that the mere presence of a gun makes people fearful because they watch movies where impossible shots are shown as normal.   :stirpot:

I am a Sheriffs Deputy in our county court house and you should see some of the stuff that we get on out x-ray machines, we have four machines running most of the day and for the most part we are finding stuff all day. We have yet to come across any of these improvised firearms but we get bulletins on them all the time, some of which are much worse than this one. The all plastic firearms are some of the scariest as they are very hard to find,as well as plastic knives which we have confiscated. You would think people would realize they have to go through a metal detector when coming to court, yet we constantly are finding illegal knive, guns, and lots of drugs. I to am all for the right to carry firearms but these only serve one purpose, getting a firearm some place they shouldn't be.
