2010 Sox & Martin Challa-Cuda
« on: March 30, 2010 - 12:13:06 AM »
I got to see the new street Sox & Martin Cuda by Mr Norm's Garage on the cruise from Phoenix to Mopars At The Strip.  Me likey.  A lot.  Mike from Mr Norm's told me these will be available in a couple of different trim levels (Race, SRT and RT), but I got the feeling they'd do anything you want for the right $$$. Check out the sweet modern interpretation of the Keystone Classic rims:

Very cool looking car.... but is this car all show or does it have some go as well?  :clueless:  :misbehaving:

Not to change topic, there are some new Challenger's out with the drag packages.  (I realize maybe this one might not actually be set up for drag racing with the big rims on there.)

How do they fare against a comparable Mustang on the track with a similar (drag package) set up on the track?  :clueless:  :dunno: Just thinking how heavy these cars are...
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

This particular car is an SRT with a Kenne-Bell supercharger.  I'm thinking it can go.

One thing that drive me nuts are the little details that seems to get over looked.  Look at the exhaust tip on the drivers side.  Straighten the darn thing out.  I've seen this on more than one of Time Machines build.  Great quality but.....very little things that makes me wonder why anyway pays 6 figures for some of these cars.

I noticed that and the tail panel had some major gap issues. I know quality control sucked in the 70s and we all love retro...but this is 2010. We want the retro look with 2010 fitment especially when forking over 6 figures.  :clueless:

the gaps on the tailpanel and trunk , and the exhaust look terrible.  I think the colors on the car give it a cool retrolook, the straight line in the qtr panel is nice, but in the end I still have the feeling I`m looking at a challenger with tiny taillights...  :2cents:

I love Sox & Martin cars and the retro idea this car represents, but I'm just not diggin it. Don't get me wrong I will buy some tickets at MATS, but I hate the 71 Cuda grill on the new Challys. I think it would look somewhat better with a 70 style grill.  :-\
