Hi guys (and gals) I'm actually feeling pretty good tonite. I ACTUALLY MADE SOME PROGRESS!!!

First off the pulley from Bouchillon. It "looks" right on the money, even came in a MOPAR box. When I ordered it from Randy (at Bouch) he told me they actually  make the pulleys for Ma, so I guess you cant get closer to that. I'll find out tomorrow.

Lets move on to Schumacher, actually I don't think its the actual mount that gets in the way....... it's the bolt going thru the mount! I feel I was very lucky tonite. Seeing I put the mini-starter in I was able to loosen the ext man (I did have to loosen the z-bar to be able to move the pipe) and manuver it around WITHOUT REMOVING THE STARTER!!  I even left the cable on it.

I'm not gonna kid you I was back in the $2 hooker mode, up down up down up down sheeesh.  I did have to do a little trimming with the dremel to get the new tube to fit easily. I'm sure on an engine stand you could tap it rite in. But being on my back doing gymnastics.... uh-a  :grinno:

My tubing bender was geting a workout along with the  mapp torch - moving things ever so slightly. I didnt want to crack/kink the tube. If the factory fill marks on the stick will be accurate, is yet to be seen. But I can always make marks with the dremel if need be. I will post a pic of before and after on the tube for refrence before I finish the install.

If the Mopars gods smile upon me, I should have her ready to go tomorrow nite!!

well I think I did it.... but not without a few complications...
Started the night by installing the new buchillon pulley..  I get an anti-freeze drip...  :stomp:
I swaped out the pulley and rehung the pump hoping no more leak....?
I finished configuring the dipstick tube, and put the insulation back on it. It needs it being right along the ext man. Idid throw a dab of RTV black on it before I put it in. I lined it up gave it a tap and its in. I thought about fabing a bracket, but its in there tight! I  will check after running it a few times and go from there.

You can use the stock tube w the schu mounts... buts its SLOW TEDIOUS AND A BIT TRICKY.  :grinyes: :grinyes: compare the stock pics to the final bends...  :cooldancing:

So I figure lets check the oil... the stick READS!!!! Its low tho but she is jacked up pretty good! If I have to remark the stick when shes on the ground so be it... at least I know where I'm at.

Now it is time to fire her up/check again for leaks while shes still up on the stands........
Click.... WTF>................ click..............  :swear: Now what... the main starter lead just a tad loose...
I will say If you install a MINI starter on a HEMI the clearance to snug up the main lead is MINIMAL at best.... BEWARE!  I ground down a wrench to help things along.

I get her fired up, after a few mins shes warm enuff to idle. The Bouchillon pulley runs dead nuts! Although I think the belt runs a little close to the fan pulley. I SEE NO LEAKS  :woohoo:

And my REGULATOR reading is looking good too!!  :swaying:  :jumping:

Tomorrow ...back on the ground. Check the oil. And out for a test drive!! :burnout:

Mike if this post helps one member (YOU!) or anybody else here its worth it to me... cause this was real hellish for awhile there!!
I'm hoping you can use this as a guide. And others too!
Ground was ok ...main lead on starter not tight enuff!! Where its located, it be VERY EZ TO OVER TORK!! Then you'd snap it.....  :faint:

Wade , thats a really good question. I thought I'd use this past weekend as the "test weekend" .  I put at least 50, maybe 70 miles on her over the weekend. Sometimes the reg was like in the pic, other times  it was at the second small line on the high side. I did look at the battery, everythinbg seems normal. First I thought maybe my pushe fan was drawing to hard, but switched it off for awhile.... made no difference. So I cant really say the problem is solved. I'm gonna keep an eye on this.

I will say the new Bouchillon pulley was right on the money!

In retrospect, I have no ill feelings against my Milodon dipstick set up either. I think if I could have aligned it "exactly" the the way it was in the beginning it would have worked. Bit if you kept on with this post I just couldn't do it.

I dont recommend this job for anyone witha back/neck problem. I'm sure a rack would have helped tremendously, but even with that you would be bringing the car up and down about a million times! For the amount of time this took doing this at my shop was impossible.

Other than that I think I'm done on any more improvements this summer.... I just wanna  :burnout:
