I've been following this thread with great interest as I think I'm in the same boat as a couple of you with my 73 Barracuda in Mist Green, white top, sport stripes & interior, rallye hood, 318 & 904 & 8 3/4 rear, PS, PB, A/C in basically stock worn out condition. This thing has everything on it that it came with except the stock exhaust which was replaced with Midas turbo mufflers. All the smog equipment is there, etc. Like everyone else I, I bought the car thinking about what I could make it, but the longer I have it the more I appreciate the time capsule this thing is. The previous owner ran the numbers and it apparently is one of 200 or so in this color combination and I'll bet far fewer than that remain today especially in this original condition. So I'm torn with what it could be vs. what it is and leaning heavily to doing only those things that can be easily reversed and even then making changes that are relatively invisible like swapping the 318 for a 340 but 'hiding' it under blue paint and a plain black stock aircleaner. The hardest thing for me to leave 'stock' are the 73s bumper guards which I hate the look of but scream 'original'. It's nice to know there are others with my sickness....
