SOCAL MEMBERS WHERE YOU AT?
« on: April 02, 2010 - 04:47:04 PM »
I'm thinking more and more about trying to start something up here by my house. I have a private area which has plenty of parking and would like to try in the next couple of months to get some place where Dodge guys can meet and swap parts, tips, and BS. Again this is all in the planning stages and may not get off the ground but if you are around and into it. Let me know.

dude trust me i know what you mean ... ive been trying to get a group together to meet up here in van nuys ... for some reason alot of these sections on this board are near death and alot of other are booming with life. It sucks because this is like the only board with topics that i would join but for some reason it doesnt work for everyone

I am in Redlands.

If you want to start a Mopar club, you should post on several sites, like Moparts, Charger.com, abody.com and such.

There are a few of us on here from SoCal, but we are spread out.......or should I say spaced out?  :clueless:  :roflsmiley:

Just moved to a house in Long beach. Have less room to put something on but might start looking for a space at a local parking lot. Just poking again to see if anyone is local and would like to hang.

El Segundo here but would be up for some local events. My cuda is in pieces right now undoing all the po's work.

Lots of local events though, the adm museum here is el segundo is sponsored by car craft and hotrod mags. They do monthly and weekly drive ins with come cool rides, but never any mopars. The hot rod crowd also meets at Starbucks on artesia and Hawthorne sat mornings, saw a savoy drag car last time I went.

If you attend any events let me know, I'd stop by to meet another ebody owner.

That is great info. I would love to check these out. I have been going to the donut Derelicts show every Sat in Huntington. I think I will check out this other ride in the next week or two. How do I find out more about the Museum thing?

The adm museum is very unique for one specific reason every Sunday weather permitting they give rides in one or two of their vehicles.

http://www.automobiledrivingmuseum.org/about/take-a-ride/

This weekend is a Nash and 52 dodge coupe. And yes they have a challenger but I haven't seen it on the list yet.....

This site is a good overview of the volumes shows that are close to us..
http://www.socalcarculture.com/events.html

And then if you haven't been to cars and coffee in Irvine your missing out on something real special, last time I was there a jaguar d type was parked near a superbird and a Ferrari 458......

You also got some Interesting swap meets in long beach off cherry ave but its most old ford parts...

Tried going to this one this weekend. There where only 4 cars. I wondered what time it got rolling. I may have just been to early. Glad I rolled up in my daily because I would have been bummed if I had taken the time to drive the challenger.

Only 4 cars? That maybe more of a summer show. It's been awhile since I've gone. Sorry it wasn't too full. I've noticed if its even overcast alot of people stay home.

No worries, i was just bummed. It was overcast and not summer. I will likely try it again just to make sure it was not bad timing.
