    Trailer sizes

    guys Im in the market for a trailer, someone just called from an auction where they are going cheap in good shape, and Im not by my car to measure it, its 2 hours away

    What size trailer do I need?

    All depends on your needs. (putting in a work bench, upper cabinets, generator, tool box, any accessories, etc.
    24' is pretty much the norm for any side car, are they 96" or 102" wide ?

    wow, that would be great to have someday, I meant more like a car transporter flat trailer, not an enclosed. My budget wont really allow that

    an E body is about 16' long so I would look for a 17' minimum

    mine is 17 1/2 better a little longer then short....risdes better too.....

    Ya, an 18 footer is even nicer and look for one that has a dove tail. That makes it a whole lot easier to load a low riding car without catching the valance or header collectors on the lip of the trailer.

    Mine was a 24' Gold Rush, I sold it back in 2002 for under 10k with all the goody's in it except for the generator, air compressor, and some of the other items which the guy didn't want.
    If you look in the NHRA paper (National Dragster), IHRA paper (Dragreview), Racingjunk.com , Classracer.com and other racing sites you may find a nice one pretty  reasonable.

    One of the best trailers in the business....

    A used 24' Gold Rush is probably around 15 to 22k..

    One thing you need to be careful of is the opening of the doors. If it's a beater then just climb out the window but if it is a show class then you will need to be able to open the door to get out without catching door on trailer guards or rails.   :bigsmile:
    I was looking on the U haul site the other day and noticed that they have a few car trailers for sale, I think about $1200, don't know how good they are though.   :cheers:
