"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."

Great quote. I always wonder, most of the people I talk to don't like the way things are going, and yet our elected officials keep doing it anyway? Aren't they supposed to do what the people want?

I totally agree this year when I get my ballot if there is an incumbant designation next to there name they are not getting my vote!

Just remember that you may pay their wages and vote for them but they won't listen or do as you want anymore, they will vote the way their party says because they need their parties endorsement to be nominated. Politicians have no back bone anymore, it is only a job, well paying job, so they will do as their party says.
Been happening here in Australia and I have noticed it creeping in over your way for a few years now.   :villagers:

Jeff, seems these threads only become political when disagreements turn into personal bashing.  :roflsmiley: Besides I don't think too many are pleased with the "service" we receive from our reprenstation in DC, thus disagreeing here should be a rareity. BTW, I agree whith everything said thus far.  :roflsmiley:

So what's wrong with a political thread ?  You either can support your claims or you can't.

If you want to waste money, just let the gov't spend it.

It seems everything that matters is either religious or political. If it's not religious or political, it's economic. If it's economic, then it becomes political. That leaves the weather.

If it's weather, it's global warming, cooling, change whatever chicken little windmill they're tilting at this week.  So that's out too.

When I filed my taxes they asked me if I wanted to "donate to the presidential election fund." I just looked at her. She said "Yeah, nobody does....." I just laughed.
