Dalton, Ohio mopar swap meet and car corral?
« on: April 14, 2010 - 05:20:10 AM »
Found an ad for a all-Mopar parts swap meet and car corral in Dalton Ohio this weekend (april 17 and 18)....

Wondering if anyone knows of this one and if it is worth going?

Its 140 miles for me, so almost like going to carlisle.....its a haul....hate to waste $75 in gas for "nothing".....

Anyone?

(Why are the cool mopar events always such a long ass drive from me!?!??!   :swear:  )

Its 5 hours of driving round trip and almost a $100 in expenses by thetime all is said and done.

I went to a "antique and classic car parts swap" this last saturday that was just a half hourfrom my home and it was a ginormous waste of time and gas.

I am not looking to repeat last weekend, especially with a substantially higher cost.

So yes, I am #$&ing about  140 miles.

I have never heard of this show hence my asking if anyone else has heard of it.

I've heard of Dalton (not the Mopar event) and the Dalton I'm aware of is basically like a crossroads in the middle of a pasture field. Not questioning your information, but could it have been Dayton, Ohio? Now that is a much larger and progressive city and PG lives out there? Just a question. Sorry I can't help with any information about Dalton, Ohio. I'll see if I can find out something further this morning.  :2thumbs:

I went a few years back, clear across the state for me too.  If I remember it was at a small dragstrip ? Wasn't too large, but I did pick up a few things,  Pretty much a local club with cars they drive more than trailer.  Still it was worth the 2 hr. drive.

P.G.

Don't shoot me if it doesn't turn out

there are a few Mopar events here in Ohio, Keith what you are reffering to, was that held at Dragway 42 in West Salem? A Wooster based Mopar club (Mid Ohio Mopars) used to have an annual event at the fairgrounds at Wooster, then moved to the drag strip at Salem, but their show/swap meet was a weekend event.  :dunno:

:dunno: I've called a couple guys that were a part of Mid Ohio Mopars, but just got answering machines and as of yet no return messages. Dalton is about 10 mile south of St. Rt. 30 near Wooster (Rt.94 I beleive), Drag Way 42 at Salem is quite a bit further east. Also another couple Ohio members in that general direction (but further south) who may have some info on this event are MentallyChallenged (Chris) and Cudaden (Dennis). If it involves Mopars, beer, or hotties these two will be in the know.  :roflsmiley:  :roflsmiley:

:smilielol: At least I got a couple members attention didn't I  :smilielol:  :smilielol:  Thanks Wade for posting that link, I tried last night but I'm so d@mn puter dumb I couldn't figure it out.  :roflsmiley:  Dalton is a little place, from what I remember maybe 500-600 people and maybe a mile (that's a strech) drive through it, but it has been maybe 20 years since I was up there and right now can't tell you why.  :dunno: Dalton I think is actually closer to Massilon, Ohio than Wooster. And I do beleive it will be a nice show, a few years back when it was at the Salem drag strip they also had the Hemi under glass making passes.  This is our anniversary weekend........wonder how I may "influence" a certain lovely wife this would be a nice activity? :dogpile:

Just a question for Chris and Dennis, were you two trying to be innocent?  :roflsmiley:  :clapping:

BTW, I still have not got any calls back, sorry. But Wade's post give all info. necessary.  :2thumbs:
