I've run across a fair amount of SCAMMERS on craigslist, Ebay and life in general.  Always have your guard up - and sometimes - you'll come away surprised!

When the restoration finally begins, I will start a new post in an appropriate thread.

First, I'm trying to determine if the '742 rear end (currently on the car) will hold up to the 426 Hemi and a 4 speed, or if I will need the Dana 60.  I don't want to leave the rear end in the middle of the road when I'm attempting to get my first "kill!"

Second, I'm trying to figure out the minimum width needed for the rear end.  My thinking is that with a less wide (shorter) rear end, the car can support wider tires without me having to tub the body.  This is probably a wild theory, but I think it could be valid.

Dana 60 is most likely needed for longevity.  I would suggest using a B- Body legenth rear IOT fit bigger tires under the cuda.

I'm probably going to check the Mopar Nats in Columbus, Ohio for a Dana 60 - but thanks for your suggestion of the B-body length rear end.

Dont know how mechanicly savy you are but there are guys here who have taken truck Dana's and made them into E-Body Dana's moparal and Sledgehammer are the two that come to mind right now.  I would ask their advice on how to do this as Im thinking they built their Dana's for around 1500-2000.00 vice buying one for 3k at a swapmeet...   :2cents:

Don

PS.  moparal is doing one for my cuda along with a few other things, I trust the man with my kid, let alone my mopar!  One of the nicest dudes you will ever meet.

I'm trying to gather information now, but I do know that I don't want to pay swap meet prices!  I will see if I can contact Moparal or Sledgehammer.

I know that Moser makes a dana 60 - http://www.moserengineering.com/complete-rear-end-assemblies/12-bolt-part-number-configurator-1.html - that may be worth checking out.

My dad and I are still trying to come up with a game plan at a reasonable budget.  How reasonable - I'm not sure yet!!!
