Looking for a repro grille
« on: April 15, 2010 - 05:03:59 PM »
Hey guys I was looking for a reproduction 72 cuda grille and haven't been able to find one. Does anyone know where I can find one? I did find a 70 grille but would like to stick with the original one and then I won't have to change fenders, and the grille header.

I don't think so, lotta decent used out there, may have some cracks to fix but that's no biggie.
72/73/74 are the same   I'd start hitting the Mopar shows & not have one shipped..

Sadly I think you are right. I just went through 17 vendors from one of my mopar mags and no luck with them either. The only repro I have found is for the 70 so I may have to convert to that if I can't find one in good shape.

I'd suggest before you make this decision that you wait until you have to..There are plenty of good used out there & the overall cost of the conversion is significant.  Lot's of folks do it just because they prefer the earlier look but if a clone is not your goal keeping the original will be much less trouble & cost.  Put an add in the Parts Wanted here & like I said start hitting the shows, a good one will come up sooner or later, maybe even a N.O.S.  :2cents:

I've got 2 grilles now, but they are each broken in 1/2. I am no good at fixing plastic so I would like something that I just buy and put in. I have a couple of grilles I am looking at, but we'll see how it goes. If I can't get them for a decent price then I'll just go repro. I already know a guy that would sell me a header panel, and I already have the headlight buckets for the 70 fenders.
