All,

I recently wrote a letter to Joseph Veltri, who has joined Chrysler Group Management Team as the Head of Product Planning.

In the letter, I attempted to explain how well Chrysler would do if they brought back the SRT-8 Vanishing Point Challenger.

I explained that Ford Motor Company does one thing very well. They make low number, desirable cars that sell and retain value. I explained that the Shelby GT500, the Mustang Bullitt and the Mustang "Terminator" Cobras are cars that Ford has produced that are highly desireable and retain value.

Chrysler is attempting to go "old school", with the Challenger "Classic" and the Plum Crazy and Furious Fushia color schemes - but not enough in my opinion.

Consider this: The SRT-8 Challenger is about $46k nicely optioned. Who are buying these cars? Teenagers? No. It is the generation of folks that fit within the 30-50 demographic THAT HAVE PROBABLY SEEN THE MOVIE VANISHING POINT.

Highland Green Bullitt Mustang? SELLER

ALPINE WHITE SRT-8 CHALLENGER? BIGGER SELLER.

I asked to Joseph to consider building a limited production (1000 units) White SRT-8 Challenger. I would be first in line.

Anyone else that would like to follow my lead and think that the White SRT-8 Challenger should be produced?

WRITE A LETTER!

Mr. Joseph Veltri
Vice President - Product Planning
Chrysler LLC World Headquarters. (888) 322-4462.
Address: 1000 Chrysler Dr, Auburn Hills, MI 48326

If this came to fruition - it would be because of US.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and hopefully write a short letter...

Don :aarg:

My argument was from a MARKETING standpoint, not what kind of car model. Hell they could take an SE and paint it a different color white, slap commemorative rims on it, a big motor and still have a limited edition commemorative car, which is my original point.

I don't expect to hear back from the people at Dodge, but if some people wrote the letters, the voice would be heard. If you like the car, buy it. If you would like to see the car, write the letter

You can already get a white SRT8 but you want them to put a sticker or a plaque on it and charge you an extra couple of grand so that the dealer can then soak you an additional 10 grand?

Show me where I can get a white SRT-8 and I will get on a plane right now.

I was just basing it on the other post stating you could get white Challengers. If you can't get a white SRT8 then that's different. I know Hurst has them though.

I am pretty sure I heard somewhere that white was going to be available on SRT8's soon.

Exactly. If the make a special version, it needs to be a white R/T with spoiler delete.

How about a white R/T with spoiler delete and packs the bigger hemi? Now that would be rare AND sell at the same time.

Although I hate the fact that it would be potentially another reason to increase the already high price on these cars...  :violin:  :blah:

I would think the larger rally rims would be cool to give it a more retro look, spoiler delter like the others mentioned, the bigger Hemi engine, SRT-8 badges deleted but have special Vanishing Point badging.

Only have it come in a 6 speed manual shift.  :icon16:  The VP car was supposed to be modified from a factory car but adding a supercharger would make the price way too high, so maybe some exhaust mods or air intake mods to help it breath a little better and bump the HP a little.  Hey, dreaming is for free, right? :icon16:

See this pic for the rims...

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Hurst DOES NOT have white Challys - they have white with gold Hurst stripes. Hell, even Dodge makes a white R/T, but not SRT-8.

Where did you read that white was going to be offered on the SRT-8?
