mammoth cave KY
« on: April 20, 2010 - 04:58:56 AM »
Anyone been to the Mammoth Caves in KY?  Me and the wife are planning on going there next month.  I'm looking for cool things to do and see there.  We'll probably be there for 2 days.  We'll already be in TN and be headed on our way back home to Michigan, so we figured we'd stop in KY and see the caves.

Been there a few times over the years, pretty neat.  Part of a huge cave complex.  If you're in the area, don't miss it.

If your heading through Kentucky and you have a few days..... and are looking for cool things to do ..........don't know if it's your type of gig, but you may want to go to the Waverly Hills Sanitorium in Louisville Kentucky.

You can check it out for a few hours or actually go in there and explore overnight  :scared:  :hyper: :jumping:

I plan on taking a trip there myself in the near future and do the overnight.
It's got a pretty interesting history

That place is HAUNTED!!
Anyone watch "Ghost Hunters" on Syfy channel?  They did a few shows from there.
I'm not going anywhere close to that place at night.

Never been to the Mammoth Caves but sounds cool!

Mammoth Cave is part of the worlds largest underground/underwater cavern system.  If you were cave diver certified it is an awesome experience I'm told.  I haven't made it out there myself but one day.

Horsepower is how fast you can hit the wall.
Torque is how far you can push that wall after you hit it.

Mammoth Cave is a pretty cool place to visit from what I remember. I haven't been since I was a kid. I live in western kentucky just south of Owensboro. Also the Power Tour is stopping off in Bowling Green this time around. The Corvette musuem is a worthy visit also. Be sure and go to Beech Bend's web site and check their event schedule as there may be something worth attending while in the area. Muscle Car Nationals will be there at the end of April followed by the Buick GS Nats the next weekend.

I heard that if you can get a group of like ten to twelve people, you can have the entire building to yourself overnight  :jumping:
You in for a down the road trip in the near future?

And sorry for drifing semi-off topic there hooD. No harm meant
